My therapeutic style is authentic, nonjudgmental, and laid back. I believe all humans should be treated with respect and kindness, and all people are seeking understanding and acceptance. I attempt to personalize my therapeutic approach to match the unique needs of you and your family.
I am trained and certified in EMDR and my passion lies in using EMDR Therapy to help individuals heal from trauma. I also enjoy working with premarital couples, using their strengths to work on growth areas. I find young adults a joy to work with, and love helping individuals in this life stage navigate their true sense of self.
I worked in the social service field for over six years. I served as a member of AmeriCorps, helping young adults with career readiness and then worked as a career counselor for families on cash assistance in Ramsey County. I then worked as an Associate at two private practices in the North Loop area of Minneapolis, with diverse individuals, couples, and families struggling with a variety of mental health concerns and life circumstances. I gained a great deal of experience working with families involved with Child Protection, and high conflict families engaged with reunification and therapeutic supervised visitations. I was then an independent contractor at a clinic in south Minneapolis, working mainly with individuals processing life stress, family trauma and various forms of abuse.
I hold a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and am licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy in the state of Minnesota.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, eating, and spending time with my family, friends, and cats.
